Flexural Strengthening of Concrete Slab by Prestressing FRP Laminates with the Presence of GFRP Anchor Spikes
The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using a prestressing FRP system to strengthen concrete slabs, evaluate the flexural behavior of strengthened slabs and practical application of GFRP anchor spikes. Advantages of using prestressed FRP systems to strengthen flexural members include the following: serviceability of structures can be increased, and flexural capacity can be increased because the FRP material is used more efficiently. Because of these features, many methods have been explored to prestress FRP materials, and most of them need advanced mechanical devices.
